Lesson & Teaching Details

Any age and experience welcome

From those are at the very start of their musical journey to those who have musical experience, I am happy to teach anyone excited to learn. Beginning and intermediate level flutists, especially, are highly encouraged to contact me!

Online and in-person lessons offered (for those in metro-Atlanta and New Haven)

Due to my studies and performing obligations, a variety of remote and in-person lessons will facilitate learning and growth; those in the metro-Atlanta and New Haven areas will receive in-person lessons when I am in town and those out of town will receive remote lessons through Zoom.

A multi-faceted teaching style

My travels and studies with professors from around the world have influenced my own approach to the instrument and how I teach others. This has enabled me to appreciate a variety of sound ideas and musical styles, which I hope to share with every student.

Flexible scheduling

Every student has their own goals and priorities. Lessons can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly depending on each student’s preferences.

Lessons tailored to each individual and their goals.

My primary goal as a teacher is to support every student’s musical development and foster a love for learning based on curiosity, joy, and respect. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals and hope to make the process as enjoyable and rewarding for the student as I can.

My flute instruction is heavily centered around beautiful sound development and relaxed, efficient use of the body to support the sound. We will cover practice methods for building a solid foundation of air usage, embouchure control, and technical stability. All music welcome! Though we will always have an emphasis on classical flute literature, I’m open to working on any music a student is passionate about.
